A really delicious, healthy and easy way of getting some additional protein whether you are wanting a vegetarian or vegan source of protein or are leading an active life and need a ‘top-up’. It is cold –milled to preserve all the natural nutrients and contains no chemicals, preservatives or sweeteners. Hemp is also a great source of fibre without any unpleasant bloating or flatulence.
Why is this a superfood? Because it’s a complete protein which vegans find difficult to obtain
Protein is an essential dietary nutrient made of amino acids, and provides energy, supports muscle growth and renewal, and contributes to bone health. Along with fibre, protein also helps manage appetite and weight by promoting a feeling of fullness after eating.
Protein is present in vegetables, but is ‘incomplete’, so vegetables must be eaten together to make a ‘complete’ protein, such as beans and rice. Hemp seed protein is a ‘complete’ protein, meaning that it contains all of the important essential amino acids, which the body cannot make, so must be present in food. Hemp Protein is an excellent alternative to animal, whey and soya proteins, for people wanting to boost their protein intake. Ideal for vegans, vegetarians, people with active or sporty lifestyles, older people, dieters, when travelling, and after illness.

I like this product a lot. It mixes really well with my own home-made protein smoothies, it's highly digestible, unlike Whey protein and, because it's unsweetened and devoid of other additives you can consume it guilt free, even if you're a vegan. My only complaint would be that the quantity is so small if you require larger portions of protein post workout (say, 30g) then this container would only last a few days.
