I recently purchased the Balance Probio for my Jack Russell Jake for his "allergy". He had lost most of his hair on his legs and undercarriage and was very itchy, red and uncomfortable. I had tried loads of creams, shampoos etc but he was getting worse rather than better. Now the pollen season is over I figured I could finally rule out pollen as the cause. Which made me decide to try treating him with probiotics. After all 70% of the immune system goes on in the gut. So healthy gut function is essential for overall health. His allergy symptoms had presented in the summer months which is why the vet suggested potential pollen allergy and recommended treating with steroids. His symptoms also presented not long after he got castrated at 12 months and he hadn't shown any allergy issues the previous summer. His tummy was very upset after the op and his appetite poor for weeks. It occurred to me that the general anaesthetic could have wiped out the good bacteria in his gut and this could be the cause of his allergy rather than pollen. It was a stab in the dark. And I am delighted to say after only 1 week of taking Balance Probio Jake's hair has grown back, he has stopped itching, he is back to being that happy cheeky wee chappy. I highly recommend trying for dogs the vets call "allergy" dogs and recommend steroids to treat. At only £9.99 for a 3 month supply for up to a 15kg dog it's well worth a try. And I am so glad I did try it for Jake.
